Meet Wendy Williamson

27 years in real estate and property management, eight family moves, and a soft landing in Charlotte from Scottsdale nearly five years ago. This page is who I am and how I help relocators shortlist Charlotte — without the hard sell.

Hi, I’m Wendy Williamson, and I’d love to help you Make the Move to Charlotte.

I’m a Realtor and business owner with 27 years of experience in real estate and property management. I also know what it’s like to start over somewhere new. My husband and I have moved eight times during our 26 years of marriage, so we understand how much goes into finding a home and putting down roots.

We moved from Scottsdale, Arizona, to Charlotte nearly five years ago, and we absolutely love it here. We have two wonderful sons: our oldest graduates from UNC Charlotte in December, and our youngest is a senior at Providence High School.

I’d love to be your Realtor, but I built this site to be a resource for anyone getting to know Charlotte. Whether you’re ready to look for a home or just have questions about the area, let’s schedule a call or grab a cup of coffee. I’d be happy to help you feel at home here.

How I help relocators

StageWhat we do together
Still decidingCut the metro into 2–3 areas that match commute, housing form, and lifestyle — not Instagram alone
Visit weekendPrioritize drives and diligence (CMS Finder on real addresses, rush-hour test)
Ready to buyBuyer path under brokerage rules and disclosures — no “exclusive inventory” claims we don’t have
Selling before you moveOptional seller conversation if that’s part of your timeline

I will not promise school seats, invent “safest” rankings, or steer by protected characteristics. I will point you to the same public tools — CMS School Finder, NC DPI, CMPD open data, BLS — every household should use.

Why MakeTheMove exists

National mover blogs and thin “best neighborhoods” lists leave out the parts that burn people: address-level school assignment, commute reality at 5:30 p.m., HOA/parking surprises, and NC vs SC differences on the fringe.

MakeTheMove’s job:

  1. Decision-grade guides — start with Moving to Charlotte and the Neighborhoods hub
  2. YMYL discipline on schools & crime methodology
  3. Hand you to me when you want a fit call — without pressure

What a neighborhood fit call is

  • ~20 minutes
  • You bring must-haves: work location(s), budget band, housing type, school needs (or none), timeline
  • I help you shrink the map and flag diligence steps
  • If we’re a fit to work together, we talk next steps clearly

Same-business-day response target on bookings.

Fair Housing & honesty. Discussions of schools and public safety information are consistent and tied to methodology and primary sources. We describe amenities and verifiable data — not who “belongs” where. Ratings ≠ CMS assignment; always verify the address.

Next steps

Skim the Moving guide, open Neighborhoods and pick two areas, then book a fit call or grab the checklist.
